Hot Gas Filtration

-Hot-Gas Filtration_1-

The main objective of this project is to provide a fundamental understanding of transport and deposition of ash particles in hot-gas cleanup filter vessels. One main goal is to develop the needed tools for optimal design of hot-gas filtration systems to avoid filter-ash bridging. The specific objectives are:

  1. To provide a fundamental understanding of particle transport and deposition mechanisms, in hot-gas cleanup filter vessels.
  2. To develop a scientific basis for the mechanisms of ash bridging in hot-gas filtration systems.
  3. To provide a set of computer simulations for the Wilsonville demonstration-scale hot-gas filter systems
  4. To develop guidelines for performance improvement of hot-gas filter systems and for avoiding ash bridging.
