Dewey Redman grew up in Texas, where he performed in school with Ornette Coleman and Charles Moffett. After a move to California in the 1960’s he played with Pharoah Sanders and with Juma. In New York, Dewey played with Ornette from 1968 to 1972.

Over four decades he played with Keith Jarrett, Paul Motian, Pat Metheny, Sun Ra, Sonny Simmons and Charlie Haden. He is father to Joshua Redman. Dewey died in 2006.

Earl Cross performed with Sam Rivers, David Murray, Rashied Ali, Noah Howard, Jimmy Vass, Ronnie Boykins, Roger Blank, Monty Waters, and many others.

Bob Keys is known as a long-time rock session players, performing on hundreds of recordings with the Rolling Stone, Eric Clapton, and dozens of other rock luminaries. But before he moved in that direction, he played with a variety of avant garde jazz artists.
