Being in DUT was a great experience. Yet, you should be aware that there is serious work laying on the path ahead of you. The library does not have all the reference books you might need.

You definitely need to get in touch early on with your mentor and understand clearly what you are expected to do, what books you will need and make sure that those books exist in the DUT library. If not, you might need to buy them yourself, which is absolutely preferable that trying to take a crash course in Chinese in order to be able to read your reference material.

You will enjoy the little park in front of the library which was the choice of hanging out of most Chinese students and people that live in the neighborhood, as at night the fountain is quite the main attraction with its beautiful lights and music playing in the background.
