Unknown Place and Time

Although we are sure that is a AMS performance, the specifics of it are unknown at this time.

Says Juma: “The Aboriginal Music Society was doing the recording end for Studio We and all of its performances and concerts. Studio We was producing concerts and starting to receive funding and that’s where we started. A year of two later when we heard Newport (Jazz Festival) was coming (to New York City), we branched into an organization.

“So the Aboriginal Music Society became a production company. It was registered as a business in upstate New York in Ulster County and through that we did productions in halls, recordings. I had a publishing company, it was called Sundance Publication, in which we were trying to protect the artist who didn’t have any publishing to have the rights to publish their songs.”
